Shipping
Shipping cost has multiple variables. First is the amount of baked goods you order. It is a lot cheaper for me to ship a single cookie than it is to ship a loaf of bread and 12 cake pops. Second, is the date the baked goods are needed by. Express shipping costs more than typical shipping does. If your item is being shipped to you, after you fill out an order form, I will contact you. We will determine the quantity and delivery schedule before providing you with a final shipping cost. Shipping costs will vary between $5 (for a cookie with normal shipping time) and $25 (for a large order with express shipping). I also can NOT guarantee a delivery date if your items are being shipped.
Delivery
I offer free delivery for those who live in the city limits of Alburnett, IA, and your order does not have to meet any requirements! To be eligible for free delivery otherwise, your order must be $30+, and the delivery location must be within 35 miles of Cedar Rapids. I typically deliver on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, but alternate days can be scheduled if needed. It's a minimum of a $10 fee for delivery if your order does not fit these requirements. If you select delivery on your order form, I will contact you so we can work out all of the details!
Payment
Unfortunately, Baked By Brianna is unable to take credit/debit cards at this time. Instead, we accept payments through Venmo, PayPal, cash, and check. 100% of the payment must be made before you get your desserts. If you are paying in cash/check, payment must be made before your treats can be handed to you. If you are paying through Venmo or PayPal, it is preferable that you pay after I contact you and send my PayPal/Venmo, but you can pay as late as an hour before your pickup/delivery. Payment MUST be made and received before I will ship your items to you, and any delay will postpone the shipment and delivery of your treats.
Custom Orders
As mentioned on the Home page, I offer custom-baked goods. Any baked goods that are currently for sale have the option to be altered to fit what you have in mind. Whether that's the flavor, design, or number of treats, if you want something that is not for sale, contact me and we can work a custom order out! Otherwise, fill out the custom order form here!
Allergies
Baked By Brianna can not guarantee allergen-free desserts. If you are gluten-free, for example, and order a custom dessert, your dessert will be gluten-free, but the area where it is baked may not be. I will do my best to stop cross-contamination between desserts, but airborne allergens like flour are very difficult to isolate. Because of this, I can not guarantee that you will not have a reaction, and if your allergy is serious, I would recommend not purchasing from Baked By Brianna for your safety. My sincerest apologies!
Legality
For those of you wondering what the laws around my baking business are:
Licensing and/or inspections are not required for the selling of 'cottage foods'. "'Cottage foods,' as defined in HF2431 (2022), are foods that are prepared in a residence that are not subject to licensing or inspection. Cottage foods must meet ALL of the requirements:
The food is prepared in a private residence (like my home);
The food does not require (I may recommend it, but it is not required for safety) temperature control to ensure safety;
The food is sold directly from the producer to the consumer (as opposed to a third-party then to the consumer); and
The food is properly labeled."
